We’re delighted to be featured in Circular Stories, a series from CRNI (Community Resources Network Ireland) that celebrates the people powering Ireland’s circular economy. Through these interviews, CRNI shines a light on the individuals behind its member organisations — their values, their impact, and what drives them forward.
This month, the spotlight is on Green Bubble and our founder, Peter Gregory.
Meet Peter
Green Bubble began with a simple idea: keep packaging in use and out of incinerators. What started as a small effort to tackle packaging waste has grown into a community-focused solution that gives materials a second life, supports local businesses, and helps cut carbon emissions.
Here’s what Peter shared in his interview with CRNI:
Q&A
What inspired you to start Green Bubble?“I saw a huge environmental opportunity being missed — perfectly reusable packaging was being incinerated or exported as waste. I’m passionate about the circular economy and wanted to create a practical, community-focused solution that gives packaging a second life while supporting local jobs and reducing carbon emissions. It’s about turning waste into value and inspiring others to do the same.”
In one sentence, what does Green Bubble do?“Green Bubble collects and redistributes used packaging materials — like bubble wrap, hexacomb boards and foam rolls — to help businesses reduce waste, cut costs, and support a circular economy.”

What project or achievement are you most proud of?“One of the things I’m most proud of is building Green Bubble into a circular solution that’s saving tonnes of packaging from going to waste. It was such an honour to have that work recently recognised by being shortlisted for a Newstalk Changemaker Award. It’s a real boost to know that reuse and circular thinking are getting the spotlight they deserve!”
What does being part of CRNI mean to you?“Being part of CRNI means a lot to me personally. It’s inspiring and energising to be connected with like-minded people who genuinely care about creating a more sustainable, circular future. It’s not just about shared goals, but about sharing ideas, encouragement, and the sense that we’re all pushing in the same direction. Being part of that community makes the journey feel a lot less lonely and a lot more powerful.”
Why it matters
At Green Bubble, we believe that waste is a resource waiting for a second life. By giving packaging another use, we’re helping businesses make sustainable choices while proving that the circular economy is not just possible — it’s happening right now.
A big thank you to CRNI for sharing our story and for the incredible work they do in building a stronger circular community in Ireland.
